This course deals with the allocation of scarce resources in manufacturing and service companies. Various operations management approaches, tools and techniques are introduced in this respect. The coverage is carried out in the context of supply chain Management. Current newspaper reports about companies will be used to illustrate the possible application and implementation problems of the quantitative and qualitative tools and techniques covered in this course to the problem(s) facing the companies concerned. Social and environmental issues are considered as they add to the complexity of the supply chain.
