The Center for Sustainable Business Practices is a partner with the University of Oregon Law School with its Green Business Initiative. The Green Business Initiative is one of the first programs in the country dedicated to the intersection of law, business, and the environment. The Green Business Initiative helps advance Oregon's economic and environmental goals by promoting a business climate suited to take advantage of the demand for sustainable practices. It's primary objective are to:

1. raise awareness of green business practices;

2. train lawyers to help their clients become national leaders in green business ventures;

3. support the development of new and expanded venture funding sources for green technologies and business methods;

4. build the intellectual infrastructure for future advances in green business; and

5. foster interdisciplinary thinking related to the intersection of law, business, and the environment

Net Impact is an international network with chapters in many universities. The University of Oregon Net Impact Chapter has over 30 active members and is rapidly growing. The Chapter engages in a number of activities of relevance:

Education and awareness raising

Campus and community service

Business-to-business networking

In addition, the Chapter is currently active in planning for the 2011 Net Impact Conference, to be held in Portland, OR, in October 2011. Student teams are working conference planning and logisitics.
