Day on the Job: Net Impact plans Day on the Job events during which MBA students visit local socially and environmentally responsible organizations. The group speaks with senior managers and learns about potential career opportunities at the company. Designed to educate and inspire, previous visits have included Clif Bar, Business for Social Responsibility, Johnson & Johnson.

Shadow Day: MBAs to experience firsthand the culture and typical workday at diverse organizations and expand their understanding of different industries and functions. Through this program, our students develop a clear understanding of the each firm’s commitment to ethical, sustainable and socially responsible business practices. Firms are selected based on their engagement in these areas.

Warren Buffet Visit: Event where select students visit with Warren Buffet. Warren Buffet is a large scale philanthropist and promotes Corporate Social Responsibility.

Job Clubs: These are student run clubs of career changers/job seekers who come together weekly or bi-weekly to discuss their career development.

Topics they discuss may include looking for jobs in Corporate Social Responsibility or ethical ways to conduct their job searches (not embellishing resumes, representing themselves accurately in networking and interviewing situations).

The UC Davis MBA program hosts an annual on-campus career fair exclusively for MBA students. The event attracts regional and national employers who are well known for their focus on social, environmental, and ethical issues. These companies are from such varying industires as consumer products and consulting to high-tech and investment banking. CalPERS and Amazon.com represent just a few of the companies who participate in the UC Davis Career Fair on an annual basis. The career fair offers recruiters direct access to some of the nation's best-trained MBA students.

Peer-to-Pier: On the waterfront overlooking San Francisco Bay, the UC Davis Graduate School of Management brings together students, alumni, faculty and corporate partners for an in-depth conversation about a current business issues.

This signature event attracts executives and recruiters from a range of industries and exposes MBA students to top leaders in the field.

2011 Topic: "Staying Ahead of the Curve: How Innovative Companies and People Stay on Top."

The Career Development team organizes a networking event for students to go on site to select companies to learn about the operation. Employers include energy companies and others that are committed to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) which is an extension of the culture of our school. Students learn about CSR initiatives and values while shadowing individuals who are consistent with our values as an institution.

This event is organized by the Career Development team for students of the MBA program to go on site to select companies to get an overall view of the organization and learn about specific corporate functions that they may be interested in.

Employers include energy companies and others that are committed to Corporate Social Responsibility which is an extension of the culture of our school.

All workshops offered reflect and stress the core GSM cultural values of ethics and commitment to community, as they relate to the Career Development Continuum for each of our students. Topics include ethical ways to conduct their job search, not embellishing resumes, representing themselves accurately in networking and interviewing situations.

Mock Interview Program: Students are "mock" interviewed by alumni and other business professionals and criqued on their preparation, overall communication skills and resume feedback is also delivered. During the feedback portion of the exercise, students may be coached on the importance of ethical representation of their skills and backgrounds, both in the interview setting and on their resume.

The UC Davis Graduate School of Management's Center for Investor Welfare and Corporate Responsibility, in partnership with the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs and Executieves, publishes an annual "UC Davis Study of California Women Business Leaders: A Census of Women Directors and Executive Officers." MBA students participate in gathering information for the study, which is then shared both within the school and the community.
